Why do some people act as though HIV just happens to us? |
HIV does not "happen" to most people in some passive sense. It usually is the result of an individual engaging in risky behavior of one kind or another. One does not have to become HIV positive. Of course there are situations where people get HIV through no fault of their own. Sometimes in life things do 'just happen' especially when you trust someone and they lie. People like to say anything at all, not HIV just happens, because it is so much easier to blame someone or something else for your crappy life than admit you are wrong and screwed up. Admitting your'e wrong is too painful for some and playing the victim is more convenient. It seems you do not have this problem and it's great because it means you will always be in charge of your life, your misery and your joy. You are an old soul. |
