If I had a sore on my penis, and I had sex without a condomn, will I become HIV positive? As in the earlier answer you need to have sex with someone with HIV to contract it and condoms are still the best way to prevent transmission of STIs but remember the rubber only covers the bit it covers. If the bacteria or virus or fungus is elsewhere a condom won't stop the transmission happening necessarily. you can only be hiv positive if the other person has hiv. You should get that sore checked out, it may be another STD. if you do get checked, you should get a blood test, not a saliva test. The only way to know is to go and get a HIV test with your doctor. Don't delay because it is entirely possible. Be safer in future if it's not too late already!! good bless you |
