Used needle pierced in my feet.no one in my area have hiv. how much chances that i will become hiv positive? |
only needle pierced not injection. needle was too old. maybe 6 month old. and after monsoon how much chances that blood on that needle will wash away. Get a blood test! Period. I would get tested just to be sure. HIV would not be able to survive for 6 months out of the human body, in fact it dies pretty quickly on surfaces. But how do you really know that the needle is over 6 months old? And also how do you know that no one in your area has HIV? It isn't as if HIV positive people have a huge sign above their heads, they look like everyone else. being pricked from an needle that is that old is not likely to have anything other than germs so u might want to update u r tetnis shot but as for HIV i wouldn't worry to much about it get tested to be sure but don't let it ruin u r day HIV virus would not survive 6 months outside the body (on in a lab under controlled conditions).....however you should have a tetanus shot if you have not had one within the last 10 years, chances of getting that is the greatest risk i think you should go to the hospital and get it checked out because not only are you at risk for blood born pathogens....you could be at risk for infection too from the needle... please seek medical attention ASAP. |
