Is common to loose weight when someone is hiv positive?

NO! People can be very fat for a long time and be full blown AIDS.....you can never tell by looking at a person if the have any STD's or HIV/AIDS

HIV is not what kills a person.

So the answer is--no.

AIDS is what kills you,and every person I have seen with full blown AIDs has been so thin and feeble,they looked awful.

Yes, however weight loss is not just a symptom of HIV infection. It can be a symptom of many other illnesses.
