Can someone contracts HIV by casual contact?

I know this Question sounds pretty weired but it really concerns me,

One of my friends who is actively involved in having sex with Sex workers and may be HIV Positive met me a few days back. I gave him a hand shake and at the same time when giving him a hand shake I was eating a chocolate bar. I have problems like gum bleeding and mouth ulcers, Later I also noticed that one of my fingers had small cut on it, Does this put me at risk of contracting HIV from that person?

it has to be blood to blood contact, and usually when they are at their peak viral load, so it's highly unlikely. it's not completely unlikely, but you would have had to have gotten some of their blood in the exact spot the cut is. if you are really not sure, the only thing you can do is go to a doctor and have some blood tests, but i doubt it's much to worry about

No you did not get infected, you don't need to be scarred to be around people with HIV because his blood would have had to get in your body, he does not have HIV on his skin.
