If someone is admitted to the hospital for dehydration but the doctors need to check to see what the cause of it is, do they check for hiv when they draw blood? As once you are admitted, you have to sign the form that says they may check for hiv. If I came up positive, wouldn't they have told me and not said that my blood work was fine? If u are worried about having HIV, get tested! Generally, a battery of blood and urine tests are done to find out the cause and the extent of dehydration. If a Dr. suspects that u might have HCV, he would likely run the test and tell u if u had it. It is a law to report STDs to the health dept and possibly question u about your sexual contacts for their safety. |
