Tommy Gunn a hall of famer? |
He beat Union cane for the title. He lost a street fight to Rocky Balboa and his career went downhill. he did beat Foreman though beore he had a false positive hiv result. He is a 2 time champion in heavy weight division. He should be. he beat Foreman, e beat razor ruddock. He was 2 time heavyweight champ. he lost alot of time in the ring. I hope he can have a chance to challenge for championship again. No way, his best win is against an old Foreman and a bunch of past it champions who weren't world beaters or great champions themselves. The loss to Micheal Bentt and the draw to Ross Purrity cast a bad shadow as well as the fact that he had such a tough time beating Joe Hipp. As well as getting knocked out every time he stepped up in competition. No. He was not that good and his career was not that long. Ray Mercer brutalized him. He was a decent puncher but the hall of fame not a chance. On the other hand they are putting people in the HOF who do not belong. Barry McGuigan and Ken Norton. Norton never won a title fight and Barry had the title for 1 year. Both of these are not credentials for greatness. Morrison had a good run as a boxer with wins over Razor Ruddock and Carl Williams but he was a far cry from a Hall of Famer. It is always possible that if Barry McGuigan and Ken Norton Sr. can sneak in with their less-than-stellar credentials than maybe Tommy can sneak by too. If I was a betting man I would bet against his induction into the Hall. |
