If one is diagnosed as hiv positive is it a bad idea to become a raw vegan? |
If one is diagnosed as hiv positive is it a bad idea to become a raw vegan? well obviously going vegan is one of the best things you can do if you have any disease, as the animal protein found in animal products greatly provokes disease because animal protein is foreign to the body so your body has to defend itself from these proteins just like it would a disease, making you more sick. People that say you need to ask your doctor are absolutely FALSE. Doctors normally have less than 3 hours of education in nutrition during their entire 8 years of schooling, not 3 credits, 3 hours! So asking a doctor about nutrition is absolutely ridiculus, they will just tell you what the media says, that milk is the best thing for you and that everyone needs meat. I don't know much about the raw vegan diet as I am not a raw vegan, but from a vegans stand point, I have oversome some serious things just by changing my diet so I stand by this diet 100% It is the absolute best decision I've ever made. Not if you are careful, the trick is too know where your food is coming from and know what is been on it and avoid anything that is not natural and organic and preferably grown by you. Though with a lower immune system it might be safer to not go fully raw but if you are very careful you should be ok. Also make sure you get everything you need, I have a friend who went raw because of eating disorders due to a tragedy in the family and I worry about them so make sure you stay as healthy as possible and get all the needed nutrients regardless of your choice. Lots of luck! I am HIV+ and am mostly vegan, but not raw vegan; the main consideration for me is the nausea that accompanies the meds I am on, plus, I have a long history of ulcers---raw vegetables would be too much. Beyond that, Notorious P.I.G.'s advice is the best; talk to your doctor. While going vegan might be okay I'm guessing raw vegan wouldn't be. You really need to talk to a registered dietician, though. Someone familiar with HIV and vegan diets. you doctor would be a better resource. the most important thing is to make sure you're getting all your nutrients. perhaps you need a multivitamin. Again, speak with your doctor. If you do it carefully litlle by little add in more fruits and veggies and then gradually raw fruits and veggies until you're about 95% raw then I'm sure you'll be a okay :D Raw Ice Cream is delicious ! :D well it's all vegan food not raw meat so your good. besides, it has all those anti-oxidants that'll boost that immune system! Do not trust advice from this site, its your life we are talking about here. Ask you doctor. and then get a second and third opinion. Yes, being a raw vegetarian a really bad idea. According to most of the top contributors here they say that going raw vegan will actually CURE your aids. woooooo! |
