Does anyone know of a website that will explain the laws regarding privacy towards people with HIV/AIDS?

best friend is positive. i get into arguments with people about stupid stuff and i want to know the exact laws. i think it varies from state to state. like, does a person have to legally tell someone before they sleep together? i thought that you didn't have to legally tell someone. someone, please help me get some answers. and by the way, my friend has told every guy she has slept with that she is positive.

Yes, in almost all 50 states of the USA, and most other countries in the world, it is against the law to have sex with someone without telling them you are infected, if you know you are.

There are also laws about telling your dentist, and doctors.

Over 100 people have been jailed for 10 years or more for not informing their partners, in the USA alone. And that is just the ones who were caught an prosecuted.

There are also dozens of other laws relating to HIV, such as laws against discrimination; laws about life insurance and health insurance coverage for infected people; laws about a right to access to treatment; etc.

You dont have to tell people that you are HIV positive..but i would hope she continues to do so!
