Pneumonia, Bronchitis, OR? |
Started over 1 week ago. Had a headache and come and go fever. Had that until today. I also have had a bad whooping cough, which sometimes makes me hack up yellow goodness. I am not HIV positive or anything, so my immune system is strong. I also have a cold feeling in my chest. This didn't start until today though. The headache and fever have stopped, and now this. I have no insurance / money, so I was reaching out to you guys. I have 2 amoxicillin left, do I take those and wait it out, or what? Can this end up killing me if I don't go to a doctor? I would like to add that I am a hypochondriac, so nothing that will make me paranoid. Thanks. This is the common course of a cold/respiratory infection. Starts in the head and when that breaks up it drains into your lungs. Then you start expelling it through coughing. It's just a virus or bacterial infection running it's natural course. I would go ahead and take the amoxicillin (not from a medical perspective, but from a personal one because this is what I personally would do). Give it a few more days to clear on its own before you head to the MD. People do survive colds, flu, and bacterial infections without treatment believe it or not. Some people just head to the MD for a remedy to a runny nose. UGH!!! Anyhow, give it some more time. Once you cough up some more goodness, you should be on the downward slope of the bug. Good luck!! Important thing is there is no more fever, which, incidentally, is another indication that you're on the way to recovery. rusty sputum is for pneumonia |
