How does any illness helps in the court?

My friend is being charged for selling drugs. He may be sentenced to several years. He is HIV positive and thinks that this may keep him out of jai. However, his attorney has told him that since he is doing well, they may not take this in consideration. What do you think?

What difference does it make if he is ill or not? He committed a crime and now doesnt want to serve the time? TUFF

So he can keep selling drugs and spread HIV to others?

Keep him locked up! No seriously, these days having HIV is not the death sentence it was 15 -25 years ago. He will continue to get treatment in his correctional facility.

Tell him to tell the judge how he has turned his life around and will never sell drugs again (if he means it). That has a better chance of working than the HIV thing.

DO THE CRIME--DO THE TIME---
OF COURSE MONEY BENDS THE ABOVE RULE.

His attorney is right unless its terminal and then it be be in a hospital jail...I am sorry that he is HIV positive but it sounds like your friend does not have a care in the world.

Maybe a spot of time will do him the world of good, maybe he could go cold turkey whilst serving his sentence.
