How could I connect these sentences?

AIDS is possibly the worst epidemic ever encountered by man-kind, but the world can change the course of Africa鈥檚 future by donating food, water, money, and moral support. (SENTENCE)An HIV-positive singer by the name of Grace Nakawunde sings....
Do you have any ideas for a sentence to "transitionize" into the next idea.... i know transitionize is not a word.

how about this:
AIDS is possibly the worst epidemic ever encountered by man-kind, but the world can change the course of Africa's future by donating food, water, money, and moral support. One of the people lending a hand with the moral support of the war against AIDS is an HIV- positive singer by the name of Grace Nakawunde.

yes? no? you decide.

nope sry

People infected with AIDS are everywhere around us, some are even celebrities.

I don't know... is that person a celeb? If they are you can use that sentence.

you need more than one sentence to connect those two.

You could use the words 'for example' to begin the sentence 'An HIV positiive singer'..etc

(sentence)

Vocalist Grace Nakawunde (HIV positive), sings....

Readability is inversely proportional to sentence length.鹿

If you insist on doing this, replace the period with a semicolon and put the letter A in lower case. You can also replace the period with a comma and use the conjunction and.

In either case it is poor English to combine two different thoughts in one sentence. If you are looking for clarity, your first sentence should be terminated after man-kind. Drop the conjunction and start a second sentence with "The world....". This makes your writing easier to understand. It also lessens the chance of ambiguity creeping in.

The sentence you propose incorporating in the first sentence might even be better used to start a new paragraph. It's hard to tell without the full context.
