What are the chances of getting AIDS if one has sex with a sex worker working at GB road (red light area of delhi) India.?? what are the chances of a person getting AIDS if he is having sex with a person who is HIV positive. though he is wearing a condom. what are happening that may occur during protected sex which may lead to AIDS?

Please mention your country and age cos diff countries have different environments, situations, perception of things, and scenarios of the red light areas and the actual situations of the prostitutes and many other things are there. I am from New delhi, India.

OK. Let`s avoid the term Prostitute. However, if you definitely know that the person is HIV positive, I am sure, you are not going to have sex even with a proper protection(condom).
The concept of protected sex is basically emerged while considering an individual as potentially "infected" hence to avoid the transmission from the high risk activities. However, accidents could happen during the sexual intercourse.
If the condom is improperly fitted or wrong size used, the chances of "slipping" is common. The condom may tare during vigorous intercourse. Some may even tare while giving oral sex. When it is unnoticed the chances are high.
Apart from the vaginal/anal penetration, if someone engage in deep kissing/licking during the sexual activity again the chances are there. Even though, the transmission is unlikely through saliva, it is possible when saliva is stained with the blood due to bleeding gums and oral ulcers.

So, safer sex plays a vital role in preventing transmission of HIV. However, it cannot completely eliminate the risk. The evidence/research on this matter remains slim.

I live in the UK and am 22 years old. The risk of contracting HIV from having sexual contact with a sex worker is quite high if protection is not used obviously depending on the HIV status of the worker, however having sexual intercourse with protection will reduce this risk significantly. If protection was used correctly and there was no breakage, the chances of actually contracting this virus is slim to none. If you are worried I would get tested but think you can safely say you are fine.

To answer your question, you can catch HIV if you have sex with ANYONE who is infected...a prostitute is no more likely to transmit the disease than the Queen of England would be if she had it! Therefore, a prostitute is no more "dirty" or "disgusting" than any other woman who chooses to spread her legs for multiple men. I understand why some women resort to this profession, and I do not judge them for it. But, just so you know, in rare cases, people can pass the disease even if they are using a condom during intercourse. I will be honest, it is not likely.

This would occur if the condom slipped during intercourse, had a small hole in it (even if it was smaller than the tip of a needle!) or ripped during vigorous activity.

You should not be terrified, but cautious and reasonable.

Yeah of course, I am a little literate, and have lived in Bombay, Delhi and seen places like Chennai and maybe almost all cities in India . at present staying abroad for making a living.
Now coming to the topic proper, :
Having unprotected sex with a sex worker, whether it is Bombay or Baharin, Delhi or Damascus, Chennai or Chittagong, the chances of getting drowned into the sea of STDs , is very very high !
But by having protection with the help of a condom reduces the chances ..thats all...because...it depends upon :
the technique of wearing it...
quality of the product....
manufacturing date...etc etc...

Coming to the point of having unprotected sex with HIV positive persons, the above rule applies...! HIV virus unfortunately does not differentiate between the languages, locality or the nations...! They seem to be more sensible than humans in this...!

I am from Mumbai, India. Having sex with a CSW is always risky whether you are using single or double condoms. When you are sexually exited, you do not have control on yourself. What if the condom tears? What if it slips? During the act you also involve many other related activities such as kissing, caressing etc. HIV virus can also pass through saliva and open wounds. You may touch the parts in your hand. You may indulge in oral sex. What is there is a hole in the condom?

How much we are concerned with the health of CSW? why they are forced into this?How many of them can afford decent medical treatment? There is risk but the percentage may be less.

First of all it's probably HIV, not AIDS..... and secondly, you can still contract HIV through saliva. The condom will protect you a great deal but not entirely. All that aside even if your partner was HIV positive, if you only had sex once, I would say your pretty safe. HIV is harder to contract than you think. The prostitute, IF, she is HIV positive probably contracted it through drug use and not intercourse. I would be tested just to make sure, but your probably safe...

Morally - Immediately when you enter the prostitute place. Avoid it.

Medically, condom is foolproof against AIDS. But if it is torn, it is risky.

Mentally, your fear of AIDS will reduce your please during the act and make you worry later.
