What would you do in this situation and why? |
You are a parole officer with an offender who is HIV positive. The offender has begun an intimate relationship with someone what would you do and why? Are you certain that the parolee hasn't already informed his/her partner about being HIV positive? What if the parolee is "hooking up" with more than one person...are you going to single handedly contact them as well? I'd stay far away in case body fluids started flying around. Slip bromide in their coffee each week. Isn't it an offence to infect someone on purpose? Your offender would be breaking the law, if he had not informed the girl. As a parole officer, surely you should be within your rights to make sure the girl is informed. This is a hard one - I'd give her his hospital card and let her ask the questions. |
