鈥淢ankind must put an end to war before war puts an end to mankind.鈥?(John F. Kennedy) Mankind has an obligation to prevent war and the suffering of people throughout the world. So fair there are dozens of conflict throughout the world. Most of them are in Africa. With the uses of children soldiers in most of the major world conflicts Africa has become a place of diseases and turmoil due to the high poverty rate and corruption within its governments. Mankind is at a critical standstill right now. We must decide to end global conflict or to let those conflict play out and watch as millions of people raped, died, or murder with a guilty conscience.
Africa throughout the last few centuries has seen slavery, conquest from foreign occupation, and striping of its national resources. With the Berlin conference we see the European empires dividing Africa into colonies with no respect for ethics and religious boundary. Not until 1960s and 70s do we see these countries becoming independent from their Europeans control. When Europe left Africa, it left behind a continent of low literacy rate and high poverty. With these circumstances and with a weak government bodies we see the beginning of the downfall of de-evolutionary of humanity in Africa. With civil war and genocides raging across Africa for the last half century the whole world have seen to ignore the situation and shown no real effort in stopping the massacre that鈥檚 been going on.
With the situation in Africa right now we see a de-evolutionary in human behaviors and morals. With rebel groups like the Jinjaweed, which have raped and murdered numerous people. Not only do they kill people like animals but they kidnapped and force children to join their military rank. With tens of Thousands of children serving in rebel groups throughout Africa we see the downfall of education, agriculture, economy, population, and consequently civilization itself. These morals actions have put humanity to a standstill in both ends. Countries that have the power to prevent and stop this tragical event in our world aren鈥檛 doing enough. Not only is the decreasing belief in humanity moral code of conduct happening in Africa but in every country that isn鈥檛 doing a damn thing about it. Consequently if we don鈥檛 put a stop to the genocides and killing in Africa then we as mankind will destroy ourselves.
The solution to this problem needs to have international support and corporations. Some countries and individuals have already made the effort on helping Africa become a better place. China has tens of thousands of aid workers to Africa with trading reaching 5 billion dollars in 2006. Other individuals like Mr. Lbrahim (who has given millions of dollar to well behave African leaders) and corporation that have contribute hundreds of million of dollars to help with economic developments and to help fight poverty and Aids in Africa. Aids is a big problem in Africa which have claim the lives of millions of people with another 31 million people with HIV positive which accounts for 74 percent of the over all percentage of the global HIV pool. The world has reacted strongly to the Aids and property problem in Africa by contributing tens of billions of dollars. Also international effort with huge support from the Red Cross and the United Nations has sent thousands of aid workers to Africa.
In recent year the flow of money and aid workers to Africa have been decreasing due to the extreme violent of civil wars and ethic cleansings. The international communities have done an incredible job by pouring money and people into Africa but the main problem still wait to be resolved. Africa biggest threats are its civil wars. The international community seems to avoid that millions of people have died due to absolute authoritative leaders that wants to root out a certain ethic group of people within their country like Darfur in Sudan. If the global communities failed to provide effective diplomatic solution or military support then we will see the continuing slottering of millions of children and women. With international sanction and military operation if its necessary to bring down a civil war and regain stability throughout the region will benefit the people of Africa and the global population as well. It have been millions of death past due that we owe Africa, to give it back its prosperity and would laminate the killing and mass migration that is going on in Africa right now. So as mankind we have a obligation to stop the civil violent that鈥檚 going in Africa before it starts knocking on our own front door. . use spell check, leave a space between paragraphs
another thought, there is civil unrest in other continents besides africa and I think your point is that we should attend to civil unrest everywhere and that you are using africa as an example? .... which can be controversial (meaning some factions will want international help and some will hate it) as noted in currently in Iraq, centuries of Israeli/Palestinian conflict, Viet Nam ... actually in any war ... but your point I believe is that these need to be addressed internationally vs past history of countries only focusing on themselves ... due to the increasing interdependency of all humanity through trade, resources, economics ... no one country is self-sufficient as was the case for some in the past, all countries today depend on others for something. |
