Can someone who has a compromised immune system have a ferret as a pet? |
My boyfriend is HIV Positive and He always wanted a ferret...But I don't know if a ferret is like a cat where, with a cat a person with HIV can get toxoplamosis. I just want to be precautious. We both already know what to do before the new arrival. I'm more concerned with him because of his compromised immune system..and he always wanted one. That is something too serious to ask on Yahoo answers. I would definitely check with your boyfriend's Doctor. Don't take chances. All 3 answers are most helpful...We feel like new parents. Since I don't have any children and he has 2 of his own...(Already grown) I showed him all your answers and he agreed to speak with his doctor, and I'm gonna speak to the vet...if anything I'll let all of you know...
