Can robin have children????? |
i love general hospital but i am kinda upset about this whole robin and children story line. she is hiv positive so wouldn't she make her child hiv positive???? With Robins health the way it is, with a c-section and staying on the proper medication there is less than a 2% chance that her child would be HIV+. I hate the way they are writing this storyline right now though. No the child would not need to be HIV positive. The way I understand it is that of your T-Cell count is good they can take certain precautions to make sure that the child is not born HIV positive. Robin's T-Cell count is very low, she is about as healthy as she can be while living with HIV, Kind of like Magic Johnson (without the idiocy of Johnson who says he is cured which is not true). Yes. Robin can have kids. That doesn't mean her baby would end up HIV positive. You can even have a child with BOTH parents being HIV posisitve and have the baby be negative. You just have to take the right steps. No. I believe that she would be inseminated with Patrick's sperm (so as to not give him HIV) then she would stay on meds that would prevent the baby from contracting the disease. I believe it is 95% affective in preventing babies from contracting the disease. That is why a lot of babies born to mothers who have HIV are HIV free if the Mom takes the preventative medicine while they are in the womb. Her baby wouldn't necessarily be HIV positive. This soapland drives me nuts. yeah i think so. im getting bored with her storyline though She can have kids there is a chance her kids wont be hiv+ but i dont think Patrick wants to..lol I found it is time to have this kind of storyline. Yes, she can have children. This storyline will go places that TV needs to go and soap opera's need to give us some great acting. |
