Why don't people...?

...educate themselves about HIV/AIDS more? Sorry to rant, but everybody seems to think that you can gets HIV just from kissing!

I'm a sanguinarian, which plainly means that I drink human (NEVER animal) blood from willing donors. Humans have been doing it for thousands of years. I educated myself and found out that--

--you can't get HIV from an infected person by drinking their blood unless you both have large, bleeding mouth wounds;
--kissing never gave anybody HIV;
--sex, transfusions, and dirty needles (and being born with HIV) are the only ways;
--HIV dies almost instantly with contact to open air;
and
--hugging, holding/shaking hands, etc. never gave anyone HIV.

*Yes we practice safety-- no unsterilized blades, and no one donates without blood tests (in case of other infectious diseases)*

So why can't people out there get real, get educated, and stop shying away from infected persons. Give an HIV positive person a hug, I'm sure it will make their day!
Thoughts?

EDIT:
***unless YOU have a bleeding mouth wound

Ask medical personnel why they wear gloves (doubled) when bathing an AIDS patient. Ask them why they are taught in nursing classes that you can become infected through kissing and sweat. All bodily fluids can carry HIV.
It was explained like this. Every orifice of the body can be penetrated by the HIV virus. Pores included. This is taught in medical schools and nursing schools.
What purpose does it serve to drink someones blood?

Many people are not proactive about their health. Like a car when it goes wrong they take it to the Garage, leave it their and expect the mechanic to solve the problem. The idea that you have no relation to your body, as leave the car and walk away, is the problem. If the mechanic said 'Well push the car around for the next month, see how it goes and then bring it back if it the situation does not resolve itself' would have owners in a rage.

I suppose because I am in a committed monogamous marriage, have never had a blood transfusion, I've never felt the need to do so. Also, I don't drink blood or blood products. I'm not neurotic about it, wouldn't mind holding an AIDS sufferer's hand, etc, it's just that I don't know anybody who is.
But I'd like to give a lot more money to the children from the Aids orphanages in South Africa, whose parents have died. They are out on the streets, scavenging, probably infected anyway.

I disagree with you.If your drinking someones blood and they have HIV you will get it.If you put something in your stomach that goes into your bloodstream and bamm you have HIV.You need to educate yourself.
