How can you tell. . .?

If someone is HIV positive?

I have a collegue who is constantly sick. Or at least complains of being sick. He often has lesions on his face and is very thin. He complains of being tired all the time and not feeling well. He was missing work fairly regularly . He also is always on anti-biotics and he I rarely see him eat anything substancial.

I am concerned that he may be HIV positive, but I don't want to ask him. I do not want to hurt his feelings and I'm not being judgemental. I'm really just concerned for his well being.

Is there a way one can tell if another is HIV positive with out asking? Are there certain characteristics? If so, do you know what they are?

How do you know that he doesn't know already and just decided to keep that information private? I am sure if he is that ill he as been to the doctor. I think that when he is ready to tell you what is going on he will.

No, you can't tell. But it sounds like it.

Just ask him if he got ahold of a rotten meat whistle.

No, there is no way to tell. Maybe he has some other ailment. Feel sorry for the poor guy, no matter what is wrong with him. You can't get AIDS just by being near him.

No idea, but the symptoms you describe could very easily aslo be crohns disease. an infection of the digestive system. gives you the leasions sometimes,... makes you sick to the stomach, makes it impossible to eat much or often or with pleasure... gives pain and uses a lot of energy by trying to fight of the disease, which is chronic and will fatigue a person... so, just ask him what it is, and don't jump to conclusions just yet....

it definately sounds like something is going on
