Hiv undetectable in VA.?

If someone had sex with someone who is positive without protection.
how high are the chances to get infected with HIV if he says he's undetectable and is taking medicine??

Also is it ilegal not to say you're infected in the states of Virginia and Washington, DC

Positive is positive, all it takes is 1 viral cell to infect you. Even if they are undetectible, the fact that they are taking the medication says that's why they are undetectable. Undetectable does not mean not present, just means not present in sufficient quantities to appear on tests.

Many states have laws requiring you to divulge your status if you know you are positive, but not all.

i don't know about the legal issues but the health issue could be quite serious. why are you taking these type of chances?

I'd say that person better start praying. The problem with hiv is that you may not get symptoms for up to ten years. Now the hiv tests look for the anibody counts. If your body doesn't detect a threat then it doesn't produce anitbodies therefore the test comes out negative and even if the test comes out positive sometimes the hiv goes into hiding when the first attack of antibodies comes out. This inturn gives the HIV test a false negative. You begin to feel better and you think you dodged a bullet when in fact you're probably infecting others. Regardless, if it's against the law it's immoral to mess with someone's life in that manner. You tell the person you're infected and take it that you spared someone's life. You become a good person for not playing with someone's life.
