what are the chances of one getting infected when you sleep with someone who is hiv positive, given that you use protection, then you come and realise that the woman your sleeping with is menstruating, that is {monthly periods}? help are scared fellow please. I don't know what the percentages are, but you should go and get checked anyway, protection is only "just-so" safe. I'm not trying to scare you, sounds as though you might be scared enough as it is, but you really should get tested, especially if she's on her period, you just never know...condoms do break, or have tiny "pin-holes" on occasion, from the factory or packaging, who knows? Good luck to you, I'll add you to my prayers that you turn out negative. The waiting process is difficult for the results ( I know first hand! ), and you'll probably have to be tested twice to be certain, but please don't delay on this out of fear. In general HIV is a relatively hard virus to get. On surfaces it lives only a very short time. If you used protection ie: a condom you are probably alright as long as the condom didn't break and you had / have no cuts or open areas on your groin. (I am not advocating that you continue this practice however because any exposure is a risk and your chance of getting infected increases as your exposure to the risk increases). see your doctor for a HIV test and be careful. as long as the condom was fully intact,even the slightest pin hole you can get infection from.your probably ok,go for a check just in case |
