Insurance +HIV? |
Hi everyone,I'm in a foreign country and pregnant. i'm working for a company and my insurance was not given early to me. So during my first months of pregnacy, i went for my check up and i was told that i was HIV positive. some few weeks later my company handed my insurance to me. Now i'm affraid to go to the hospital where i'm insured for fear that may be the hospital might expose my health condition to my company and will loose my job. and the hospital where i am following up is becoming more and more expensive . I can't even meet up with those expenses since i have to follow up an anti-HIV treament which is damn expensive and antinatal care in this private hospital.Do you thing if i go to the my insured hospital they will expose my condition? Im sorry to hear this, but dont let it take over you! That company can not expose your info, and if so I would sue them and then you wouldn't have to worry about having enough money! Good Luck and God bless! I can't speak for a foreign country, but in the US they can't do that.... It depends on the country. I would have the HIV test repeated to make certain it's not a false positive. If it's confirmed that you are indeed HIV+, then you need to be treated, as does the baby for prenatal care etc. anyways, depending on the country , I would imagine your diagnosis is protected. The insurance company will know, but the company u work for doesn't need to know. good luck. You should be worrying about your child rather than your insurance. |
