HIV T-cell question? |
My girlfriend was recently diagnosed as hiv positive. She nor I was aware she was Hiv positive till about 5 days ago. I am testing negative. But the thing is the doctors said she only has 4 t-cells. Does that mean she has had Hiv for a long time or could her t-cell number get that low in just about 3 months? On a recent diagnosis of HIV you have to remember two phrases and one objective: CD4 cell count (a kind of T cell) and viral load. Um an elevation of white blood cells is an indication that something is wrong with a person. And if her T-Cells are low, she could be anemic. And even though nothing is showing up now, I would get tested again in 6 months just to be sure that you are okay. Think of T-cells as the composer of the immune system. These guys help to get the immune system activated for fighting infection. I would think that she has had HIV longer than three months or her t-cell count to be 4, but anything is possible. |
