What is it that has made indians score the highest toll of HIV positive people?

Even when indians are so morally nurtured and considered to be full of dignity ... is it the influence of western culture invading our indian society??

adi..

getting aids is not a point of being morally nurtured and full of dignity. its because of lack of awareness.. and due to poverty and illiteracy this problem exists in abundance.
why blame the western culture.
they might be open to sex. so should we. but the point here is safe sex. western culture has never promoted unsafe sex.
in India it is not just the poor people who are affected by this. this problem is there even in the upper classes. we Indians are conservative and many times because of this we don't discuss topics like sex and aids openly. its good that sex education has been introduced in schools.

now considering the case of sex workers. quite many of them are poor and often unaware. they don't know how the disease spreads and it's consequences.

lately many programs have been started to make people more aware. NGOs have always played a major role in this and sometimes even well known people put in efforts.

the problem is that India has a huge population and aids in India has a wide spread base. that is why it has spread so much.. we have to change things in our own society.

hopefully with the efforts being put in things will change for the better.

It is all misleading and vexacious documentation.

improper education

Lack of awareness i suppose. HIV/AIDS has got nothing to do with western culture. After all the African Chimpanzees were not not westernised (in case tou didn't know that the first hiv case was found in chimpanzees of africa.)
It seems even u need to be educated about the causes, symptoms, and awareness of hiv, aids.

I think u yourself answered your question
Provided their too moral nurturing they just want to be free.
Secondly, they feel among Indians, this virus is not so common so they just don't feel the need to protect themselves and go for frequent tests

the fav indian pastime without any rubber

because they love sex
