Should all people who are HIV positive always be required to identify themselves .?

why or why not? by what method would they identify themselves at school, at work, and other places.

Only if it's in a situation where they could expose someone to the virus in a direct fashion - they should have to tell any doctor/dentist/nurses treating them as well as tell any sexual partners. Otherwise, I think it's up to the individual to disclose that information.

Do you like your civil liberties?

Why should they? It's YOUR responsibiliy to protect yourself, not everyone elses. You should behave as if everyone has it.

Sexual contact or blood transfusions should be the only reason for disclosing such an ailment. You can't become infected by just breathing the same air.

No, but I think they should go to jail for murder if they have sexual relations with someone else, without first telling them.

But they shouldn't be required to identify themselves prior to that (in jobs, school, etc) because that would lead to discrimination.

I think people should be allowed to know if some people have HIV and let them pick if they want to be around them or not. And yes schools should know for the protection of the other children.

No. The HIV infection has been brought to a "chronic disease" level, instead of a "fatal disease" level it was in the past decade. The new drugs can bring thew viral count to undetectable.

Even so, their blood and their semen (if male) would remain more infectious than someone who was uninfected (duh). That's the point though. Unless you intend to commonly expose yourself to the blood and/or semen of others at work, school and other places, there would be no reason to force people to announce their HIV status.

On the other hand, there are very good reasons to allow people their privacy in this issue. Children being horribly mean being one of them. If a child were to be singled out as being HIV positive, they would be ostracised, most likely to the point of requiring home schooling. Adults are often times not much better.

Since as mentioned above, the life lengths of infected people has greatly increased, to cause them to be exposed to bigoted and small-minded hatred because of something that can easily be prevented from spreading, is to deliberately take away from the quality of life which everyone should be allowed to attain.

If in situations where they can hurt other people by spreading the disease, yes, they should be identified
