Why are people so Cruel to HIV positive people? |
My friend was diagnosed as being HIV after helping a guy who had been bitten by a dog. Blood squirted into her face and she contacted HIV through the blood going into her eyes. She is devastated as she has young children and only recently divorced. It hurts me when she meets somebody, and she insists on telling them her status. She has printed pages of literature of how HIV can be contacted which she hands to her new friends when informing them of her status. Then I get the emails, "will he/she contact me again". When she told me, I grabbed her, hugged her and told her I would always be there for her. Quite a few have just left. She is such a good person, and it is killing me watching what she has to endure. People are mean to her because people are simply dirty minded. They think of all the countless and random sex she had to get HIV. They know nothing of her or her past, and how she got HIV(and I'm terribly sorry she did)Plus people still don't all the facts on HIV. They think a lot of crazy thoughts (i once asked someone how they thought HIV is contracted and they said "simply by touching them"), and are only focused on their health; not caring if it hurts that infected persons feeling. People are also mean because they think of the scenario "what if she bleeds and i have a tiny cut on me?", they are trying to prevent the same fate. Personally I think it is stupid to treat a person like this, especially your friend. She never asked for HIV, she never thought "hmmm I feel like getting HIV" NO! I pretty sure she didn't. She also helped a person when this happened, why didn't he inform her of his condition? There's a lot of questions and never enough answers. But you and your friend have my complete support. I really hope that a cure comes soon, just for your friend. Because they're ignorant and afraid. It's human nature. simply uninformed. in denial or refuse to accept the facts.. because theyre afraid of what they dont know. That is just horrible. FEAR! because they are dumb @$$! who will go to hell!!!!! the world is cruel I don't know anyone with HIV&i don't really know alot about it,i think thats why people are how they are,its ignorrance! They're scared...mostly of the unknown, ignorance and the like. Stick with it, and continue sharing the love. God Bless You're a true friend indeed. My heart goes out to your friend and I wish her all the best. It pisses me off to see that we live in a society that functions the way it does. She shouldn't have to go through what she does, but she will be strong because of it, and it will teach her who her true friends really are. You just keep doing what you can to make her life bright. your friend is such a nice person.. and i salute her for helping that guy. yes some people would right away discriminate people with HIV, and thats something out of our control. but your friend is really a nice person and i adore her for what she did. Because people are ignorant as hell and they don't realize that the ONLY ways that someone can get HIV are by intentional AND unintentional blood transfusions, such as the one you have listed above in your description of how your friend contacted it; sharing needles, AND sexual contact. People can be such IGNORANT bastards!!!!!! oh! its so sad! i think the main reason behind this is the unawareness prevailing among the people about the HIV positive people! people needs to understand that it can only spread if u will come in contact to the blood of infected person! sue the bitten guy...or the dog o.o It just a issue that not everyone is able to understand nor take in. Hopefully time will heal her wound on this Because they are ignorant and afraid they will catch the HIV, and mostly they just do not understand like they are uneducated about people with HIV and the bottom line is they are scared to death because it will kill you and that is a fact. I really don't think that they are being cruel on purpose. They just do not understand and they need to be educated about HIV that's all. the people who r cruel to HIV affected person beacuse the people have no character.........! definitely those people dont have enough knowledege about HIV... people fear what they dont understand its sad but its true. ur friend is a very strong and kind person and is very brave as r u the world needs more people like u |
