We can;t find the cure of AIDS but we can give a artificial immune system to a HIV+person? |
i heard everywhere that is no cure of AIDS is it true?i know the prevention but still it is no cure Your body's immune system is largely based on white blood cells. The HIV retrovirus attacks the T-helper (T-lymphocite if I remember correctly) cells that are part of white blood cells. The virus works by attaching itself to these cells, inserting its viral RNA into the cell and re-writing the RNA of the host cell. It does this to replicate itself. Because it attacks the very cells that make up our immune system, it can not be replaced. There is no way to drain the body of all blood and replace it with new blood. The virus has also been shown to hide in other areas of the body, like the brain and stomach. So even if we could sucessfully "change out" the blood, the virus would like still be present and continue its process. There is no cure for HIV or AIDS, only treatment. Researchers and scientists from around the globe this year recently completed a genetic mapping--if you will-- of the HIV/AIDS virus in hopes of finding a protein that will help them to create a vaccine or a new form of treatment. HIV/AIDS effects every patient differently. Do some research on line and in the library. |
