Is it possible to get HIV/AIDS from a needle scratch?

This NYE, I was out with friends and I drank a bit too much. I don't remember anything from the night, but I am certain I did not have sex. That night when I went home there was a long red scratch on my foot, skin was scraped off it and there was a bit of blood. I have no idea where I scratched myself, but I kind of remember falling in a public toilet.

Then, my friends started joking about needles and it scared the hell out of me. I don't remember any needles, but is it possible I scratched my foot on a needle? I'm very aware of drug users and heard of them leaving needles in public toilets. I'm very scared and have panicked for a week now!

Also after that, I've gotten a rash on my stomach (could be from alcohol?), muscle pain everywhere (although that could also be from my tetanus shot, as I got one shortly after), extreme fatigue and feeling very disoriented/dreamlike as if I never got over my hang over!

Please help!!!! I'm 16 years old and a female btw!!

You have got injury but you dont know how and when ? This much hang over isnt right , ,you may get HIV And other like hepatitis b , but symptoms you described needs a meeting with doctor and Aids does not cause all these symptoms so quickly and you should get rid of mental sickness so visit a doctor soon

Your symptoms could be caused by stress. See a doctor. The only way for you to find out if you have HIV is to get tested. If you are concerned, get tested.

It's good that you got a tetnus shot..good thinking. But just to be sure, get a blood test and tell the clinic or your doctor exactly what you have written here. Don't let time pass by because if you do have a medical problem from this, the sooner it's diagnosed, the sooner you can start medication. And yes, stress can cause all sorts of symptoms to develope, so to alleviate any more stress and second guessing, go get checked out tomorrow. If you even suspect you might have been stuck by a dirty needle, you need blood panels on a regular basis. Speak with your doctor without hesitation. HIV/AIDS is very possible if you were stuck. Additionally, you need to be screened for Hepatitis B. Hep B is more common than HIV and is just as if not more likely to be terminal. One of the first things they teach EMT's is what to do if you get contaminated with someone Else's blood. Lots of blood work is essential. It could be nothing, but you do not know. Do not mess around with this stuff. Get checked quick.

As far as your symptoms? Probably stressed induced.

Aids takes months to years to incubate (be detectable and show signs)

Hepatitis takes weeks to months depending on which type.

Either way, I would not waste time before getting checked!
