The rash that MAY be experienced shortly after becoming infected (within 3 months, more likely 2-4 weeks) can be found on the face and trunk (sometimes the extremities including palm and soles). It is a erythematous maculopapular rash and in some it causes mucocutaneous ulceration in the mouth, esophagus, or genitals (mouth/genital sores...another possible symptom of being recently infected with HIV).

-environmental allergies (irritants)
-herpes infection
