I am really paranoid lately about hiv, need some help?

Ok, i had unprotected sex and now im very nervous about what could possibly be happening. Now, before i had any symptoms i researched hiv to learn more about what to look for. Since then, i have developed a very mild case of a sore throat (barely there), but my tongue is white and just today i noticed two bumps on my tongue (one on each side). when i say white at times it looks moderately white then at other times i cant even notice any white at all. yesterday around 12pm i started to get really weak, cold, and tired (flu symptoms) but it only lasted till about 1030pm. Today i feel fine. Also keep in mind the act only took place 9 days before yesterday... also, i had a headache yesterday too and could of been because of the sickness i was feeling at the time. i work two jobs, one at 230 am, could this be a cause? (paper route). i guess the signs i would be showing would be flu like symptoms, sore throat, headache and possibly thrush? is it possibly in my head, too early for signs?

by the way the partner showed me a test that said negative for any std's, but that obviously doesnt count for at least the past 3 months. also, had unprotected sex with my soon to be exwife because she was cheating on me, that was a while ago though. but, im not as worried about that as what happened recently.

Nine days may be too soon to begin having HIV symptoms if you're infected.

Some people, 3-6 weeks after HIV infection, develop a syndrome called Acute HIV Syndrome. These symptoms can last up to a month and are usually mistaken for a viral infection because they can include enlarged lymph nodes, fever, headache, nausea, and fatigue. The quantity of the virus in the body during this time is very high, which causes these preliminary symptoms.

Then as the body begins to try to fight the virus, the quantity drops and the virus begins to spread over the rest of the body.

Some people begin having HIV symptoms after several months; some after years or even decades. There are way too many factors to predict how soon an infected individual will develop AIDS from an HIV infection.

Although we can't tell you you haven't been infected, your signs and symptoms don't seem typical of Acute HIV Syndrome. (Thrush isn't part of the syndrome, by the way; to tell if it's true thrush, try to scrape the white off. It won't scrape off. Thrush is common in AIDS, but only as a later opportunistic infection.)

Most of us are paranoid about HIV. I am, and I've had the same partner for 16 years. As you've had exposure to multiple partners, you may want to get tested promptly. Discuss with your physician (or the clinic where you're tested) when you might have been exposed; they can help you decide when to be tested.

If you have HIV, you wouldn't get symptoms this soon anyway. Symptoms don't begin for around 6 months after getting infected. You'll have to wait 3 months to find out if you have it but chances are you don't since you have a 1% chance of getting HIV after sleeping with an infected partner.

Be more careful next time

Don't listen to these people, they're morons!

Yes, you can have sy (symptoms) of HIV w/in a week. It's called the prodrome!

Your si/sy don't sound like HIV, but why take the risk. Go get tested!
