Sexual contact with warts?

I have a lot of questions regarding genital warts

- If someone has warts on his penis, is it unavoidable that you'd pass the virus onto their sexual partner?

- If someone has warts, can that person pass on the virus through kissing /heavy petting, but only one way (so if the woman is petted by the guy carrying the warts, not the other way around)

- if the warts are treated and visible signs are not present, can the virus still be passed on by sexual contact? If so, would it have to be full on intercourse only, or by any other means (fondling, heavy petting, kissing)
-or is it a case that the chance is just lessened by them not being visible?

- if you know you have the hpv wart virus, whats the consensus on informing someone you have it... I have had a normal amount of sexual partners and it's never been something mentioned or discussed, it's not even something thats openly discussed in public life (such as hiv and chlamydia), I just find it so odd that the sex clinic tell you it's extreeemly common, yet it's not something out in the open.

- I think I contracted the hpv virus from my recent girlfriend of 4 years, but she's shown no signs at all of the virus whatsoever, even after obviously frequent sexual contact... is it possible that someone can never get it and just be lucky, or is it that she's definitely got it but just not had any symptoms?

- Lastly, when i went to the sex clinic they said that they werent sure that what i had was warts, cos they were flat, not cauliflower like, although all other aspects of them seem to fit in with what you'd expect. SO I have to have a biopsy on one of them so they can doublecheck, i looked online quite a bit but could not find any other std's that it could be. They also said that it might not be an std at all and just normal warts, but that would be really odd no? The biopsy is 2 months away and they had no worries about it being something sinister (if that helps anyone answer this one)

I know it's good to ask doctors about these questions directly but in terms of how to deal with this in real life with sexual partners I think people with experience can qulaify for some of these questions.

- I mean, how on earth do you tell someone you just met, hey by the way i have the wart virus and if we get it on, you are going to get it too, and you get these awwwwful things popping up on your private parts... it seems like a sexual excitement/encounter death sentence!

I'm so annoyed cos i cant really have sexual relations until i get them removed, but since i have to wait for a biopsy in 2 months i have to tell this girl to take it slow, and she's gonna wonder why pretty soon.

Thanks in advance.

Until you find out for sure, it is unfair to have sex with another person, genitals warts are a virus and highly contagious. If you touch someone with your hand and dont wash you hands you could get it your mouth, or any mucous membrane. I would suggest not having sex till you know, why would you want to risk another person contracting it too.
