DO I HAVE HIV???? OR ANYTHING ELSE?

I have this cough that I've had for a few months. It started one day when I sleep with the fan on my face. It started out as a dry cough then developed to a regular cough with only light phlegm coming up. There is like a tightness between the back of my throat and my chest. And when phlegm comes up, it doesn't taste like normal phlegm, its kind of sour. Also every so often, I'll cough up these terrible tasting and smelling things called tonsil stones. I've tried mucinex and it didn't do hardly an I don't have any other symptoms I have a doctors appointment but not until about a week and a half from now. DO YOU THINK I HAVE HIV??? OR BRONCHITIS??? OR LARYNGITIS?? OR PNEUMONIA???

My wife slept next to a fan for three weeks, and developed a cough just like yours. Less than six months later, she was in the hospital receiving daily transfusions of blood, with the doctors trying to fight off her infection.

So yes, you could very well have HIV.

I hope your story turns out better. My wife died seven months after having a fan on her face.

Your symptoms are certainly not indicative of HIV. However, since you brought it up I can only assume that your sexual experiences give you reason to do so. You must realize that your immune system could very well be compromised by the virus and it would take very little, such as sleeping with a fan, to cause you to become ill. Given just these circumstances and no contact with people who have respiratory disorders or any 3rd world ventures, I would say that the possibility of HIV is alarmingly high.

HIV?! Why would you think that based on your the things you are describing.

It kind of sounds like a sinus infection. Could be walking pneumonia. My brain wouldn't ever go to HIV with what you've described but it sounds like you might be worried you have HIV.

Good luck at with the doctor.

relax, i doubt u have HIV or pneumonia, especially without a lot of plegm and fevers and chills.
maybe just a mild case of bronchitis.
need to listen to ur lungs.
and how's the back of ur throat? red? inflammed?

u canNOT get HIV from a fan. it is transmitted via blood or other body secretions. dont let these yahoos scare you.

If you think you have HIV due to a persistent cough, I'd question your sanity and would assume you would have a mental disorder.

Go to a doctor, how do you expect anyone to know what is wrong with you by an internet posting?

Most people don't know that sleeping near a fan is the number 4 cause of HIV.
If you have any reason to believe you have HIV, get tested, don't ask people over the internet.
Sounds like a cold to me, though.
Good Luck!!

It depends. Certain fans made lately in China have been recalled, due to the fact that they have HIV causing agents inside their electrical circuitry. I would see a doctor, considering your chances of having HIV are very high at this point.

Your body may have been damaged by several known batches of defective air conditioner (both heat and cooling) filters. These have been found to release small particles of fiberglass and chemical insulation toxins into the air very slowly over a long period of time. Similar to the fans mentioned above, I saw on FOX News that these filters were produced in China and the defect was noticed about a year ago. Be on the lookout. Prolonged exposure to air circulated through these defective filters may cause treatable conditions such as bronchitis, or they may cause permanent damage to your lung tissues and they may only be repaired through surgical methods.

go to the health department and get tested for hiv if your are concerned
