Too early to be HIV symptoms?

I may just be paranoid but about a week after sex I came down with a sore throat and cough. I also developed a rash for a couple days. The thing is everyone I live with has a cold and I easily could have gotten it from them. There is also a possibility I had an allergic reaction to a new comforter that caused the rash. I think the rash could also be connected to the morning after pill taken about a week ago and stress. The rash wasn't really itchy and in some areas it just looked like I broke out like in small zits.

Is it possible that these are early symptoms of HIV or my mind playing tricks on me?

They are definitely not HIV symptoms. Symptoms of HIV would not show up until much later. You may have caught a cold, and/or had an allergic reaction to something. Stress could also be causing some of your symptoms. See a doctor. You may want to consider getting an HIV test 3 and 6 months after your unprotected sexual contact, just for peace of mind.

Strep throat variants cause sore throat, cough and occassionally, a type of rash called a "scarletina" rash. If allowed to progress can become scarlet fever. You should go to the doctor, tell them you are worried you have strep because you've got the sore throat and had a rash. They would prescribe antibiotics, after doing a throat swab, they'll run a rapid strep test and should know really quick. Occasionally rapid strep comes out negative and then they do a version of that test that takes a few days to come back (which can catch other variants of strep, whereas rapid strep only catches one type however is the most common type)

Your mind is playing tricks on you, dear...
If you were to contract HIV...you would not be displaying any symptoms yet...those take a while...sometimes years...

No "may" about it. It's far too soon to develop symptoms. You're paranoid.
