Whats the difference between AIDS AND HIV?

What are the survual chnaces with each one.
And what are the symptoms

HIV is the before effect.
where as AIDS is the actual virus that forms from HIV

the signs ive heard can happen between 2 weeks to 2 years. and its usually a soar throat or a rash of some sort. also i heard you lose a lot of weight.

and if ur getting tested it usually takes from 2weeks to 3 months to get a result.

and your chances with each depends on where you are. if ur in africa and have sex with someone then ur more then likely to have the HIV virus. AIDS (starts with HIV). however if ur in a normal place, ur chances are low unless you've heard of a break out.

also condoms do not fully protect against any STD or HIV/AIDS.

HIV is the virus that damages the immune system and can lead to AIDS. Someone who has HIV may have no symptoms at all for several years, but someone whose immune system has been damaged to the point that they are diagnosed with AIDS would be ill frequently, and have trouble getting rid of infections that would not be a big deal to most people. In fact, for someone with AIDS, colds, flu, and pneumonia can be deadly.

(AIDS is diagnosed when the person's CD4 cell count drops to 200 or below.)

Although there is no cure for HIV, treatments can help people who have HIV live longer, healthier. Length of life depends on many things, including the body's response to the virus, response to meds, and whether or not the person is following through with treatment as prescribed. It isn't really possible to say exactly how long someone who has HIV could live, but initially, they may not have any symptoms for 10 years or more.

HIV is the virus that causes Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome. The "Syndrome" part is not a disease or a virus, it is a collection of symptoms and diseases caused by the HIV virus interfering with and destroying your immune system. There is not really an AIDS virus-it's caused by the HIV virus.

Long term survival in most cases (approx. 20 years) is high these days but only if you have access to appropriate anti-viral drugs and good general health care- much of the world has neither.

It can get complicated as far as symptoms and testing. please read the link below which I hope spells it out clearly.

i was just studying this in school
i used to ask teh same thing...

HIV is human immuno virus
it kills all your T cells( the cells that keep you
healthyy and protect your immune system)

AIDS is aquirred immune defincentcy syndrome
it breaks down your bodyy until you enevtually diee.
the anti-bodies destroyy the T(helper) cells.

HV CAN lead to AIDS buht having HIV doesnt neccasarilyy
always leads to AIDS.

qood qestion:)
