Am 13Weeks pregnant, and just been told am hiv positive.ive never had any signs or symptoms but am so worried..? |
and the other thing,am so scared to tell my partner..because i kno his going to let me abort or leave me.hes a very honest man and he work with the kids, this may affect his career..please help what can ido. Wow, i'm so sorry to hear that you are hiv positive. I know that it's a mind blower, but you know what? You HAVE to tell your partner, you can be in legal trouble if you don't! And no matter what ANYONE tells you about your baby, DO NOT ABORT!!!! You have a very, very strong chance of having a healthy, strong baby, you just need to take the antiretroviral drug right before birth. Please, if your partner cares for you and his baby, he will support you, if he doesn't then, you need to find another way to get support. You have the ultimate decision on what you do with your body! Again, tell your partner asap, so he can also get tested, you have that duty to do that at least! I wish you all the blessing with you and your baby.... First off, know that you can safely have this baby by c-section and then bottle feed. Because of the way the placenta works, the mother's blood never mixes with the baby's, and so the baby is only HIV positive if the father is the one who infected the mother in the first place (HIV positive men can't have children without the disease for some reason). And if you don't breast feed (breast milk of HIV positive women contains HIV virus) the kid will be perfectly healthy. you will be ok just follow your doctors orders oh buy the way you have to tell him so he knows to get tested ( who knows he may have given it to you) its the law, most people can be asymptomatic for a long time not having any symptoms so just listen to the doctor get plenty of rest and take care of yourself you can have a hiv - baby of course you will need a c section many people have hiv - babies in this day and time and live a long and normal life oh my goodness. that breaks my heart. May god be with you. You need to tell your partner, he is at great risk, and so is your baby.In general, babies born to mothers who have HIV have a 25% to 30% chance of being infected with HIV... so that could be a concern. You need to remember who you have had intercourse with that could have passed it on to you. Hopefully your partner will understand. However he needs to get tested. You need to get HIV treatments to prolong the length of your life. good luck and god bless Which test were you tested with? Well how do you know he didn't give it to you? How often have you gotten tested in the past? Signs or Symptoms rarely show up in the beginning. I don't know what state you are in, but i would recommend counseling. |
