What are the chances of having HIV? |
I've only had protected sex in my life, both of the girls were virgins, however, they have had past boyfriends, and possible oral sex. I've now begun to worry because my current girlfriend is sick with flu like symptoms, and I am aware that it is a symptom of a positive HIV reading. Honestly, your chances are low. But I know how nerve wracking it can be wondering. That's one of the side effects of having sex. The best thing to do would be get yourself and your girlfriend tested together. That way you wouldn't worry anymore. You can always go to your doctor's office or a local clinic. If you live in a metropolitan area it's easy to find somewhere that offers free testing, check in the yellow pages or just google it. You are VERY unlikely to have caught HIV from one of your ex girlfriends if they have only had oral sex with ex's and you have only had protected sex. If you have ALWAYS had protected sex, then your chances are very very low. Your current girlfriend is most likely ill from the flu. We are just now getting out of the "regular" flu season and there are still plenty of influenza viruses going around. If you are having protected sex, you are as safe as you can be other than practicing abstinence. Your chances sound very, very low. Flu-like symptoms can be a sign of HIV, but they can also just be a sign of poor health or (imagine) a flu! Hi from France 鈾?br>
