Swollen lymph glands? |
I'm scared. Haven't been to the doctor yet but I will go soon now from this...I felt cold symptoms a few weeks ago, then my throat was swollen. Now the symptoms are gone but my gland is still swollen. Does anyone know what it is? I'm scared because I got a new bf and a few websites said the first signs of HIV/AIDS were swollen glands....but I was thinking it could just be swollen because I didn't take any antibiotics to get rid of it. Please help! Don't be afraid. When my sinuses drain and allergies bother me, mine swell..Go ahead to your doctor, I'm sure you'll be fine. Best thing to do to ease your mind is go see a doctor and from there if there is a problem he/she will refer you to a ENT. Keep your head up you may be worrying for nothing. Seems like your body is still fighting an infection somewhere. That is what the lymphmatic system does for the body. well.............any infection can cause this to happen...could be viral or bacterial......strep,mono,eb virus can all cause lymphadenitis.................doc may do strep and mono tests to see which it is....if mono, take vit c,vit b... and rest...if strep, antibiotics will cure.......good luck....... |
