Coud you be infected?

can you get HIV?AIDS just by sitting on a drop of blood BUT you're not wearing any undies... i know it's far fetched. my friend is freaking out because when she was about to pee (her undies are down) she accidentally sat on a drop of blood (she was in school and she thought she could just squat while peeing so she can avoid the blood).. she thinks it may gotten in her vagina. she searched on the internet about the symptoms and she found out in a site that she has some of it... i told her that those are not certain because it's only flu-like symptoms... like for ex. abdominal cramps (but she has a semi-ulcer) muscle pain (she's under stress) fever.. those symptoms maybe due to her stress and some of it are directly sttributed to some of her sickness already. i told her that some of it maybe just psychological... so could she have HIV?

You CANNOT get HIV from sitting on a toilet seat, I can see why your friend would be concerned, however if the blood was dry the HIV virus would be dead, anyways. Tell your friend to NEVER search on the Internet when curious about symptoms, when it involves something like this, because often it just gets you worked up and thinking you already have a disease, that in reality, you never even had. You were right about it being psychological, tell her not to worry about it, and that if she is THAT concerned, then to go get tested. Good Luck with your friend!

Most likely it is just paranoia on her side. Let her understand two things though. One is her being a hypochondriac and the other is psychosomatic. Tell her it is just on her mind and she needs to relax and be not stressed out. Otherwise, if she really thinks she might have gotten the virus, then she should just have herself checked to relieve of the stress and get a peace of mind. Take care!!!

first of all, how can she be sure that the blood has HIV? or any infected blood? maybe its just ordinary drop of menstruation?
anyway if your friend is really bothered, she should go see a doctor, to be sure.
and yes you're right...sometimes symptoms like those are psychological.
