PLEASE help me and tell me what is wrong with me!?

I have had what seems like a common cold the last couple days...a stuffed up/ runny nose a sore throat..but no coughing or anything. Than tonight suddenly i feel HORRIBLY nauseous! I haven't thrown up but feel like i am on the verge of doing so. I am miserable right now i feel absolutly nauseous!..what do you thinkis wrong with me is this more than a cold?...Also there is a couple things..about a week ago I had unprotected sex and now I am thinking that this is a pregnancy symptom or possibly a symptom of contracting the HIV virus..PLEASE help me I am freaking out!

Your cold symptoms could be a cold or undiagnosed allergies. The nausea could be due to any number of things...stress, not getting enough sleep, etc.

Typically, pregnancy symptoms don't start showing up until three weeks or more, and usually it's five weeks. (Though I've heard of people who have them right away.) Morning sickness isn't typically seen until a woman is six weeks or more along with a pregnancy, so I doubt that's what your experiencing.

As for HIV, the site I pulled up says that people experiencing the "symptoms" of HIV might just be feeling the effects of some other STD or a common cold, and may even psych themselves into feeling sick due to stress.

Either way, the best thing to do is calm down and call your doctor right away for testing. This is best left to a professional to diagnose. Don't handle it on your own, and DON'T come here for a quick crapshoot.

I dont have an answer to your question but stop freaking out. It only makes things worse... much worse. Just relax until you know if you have a reason to worry.

Neither pregnancy nor Hiv would affect you a week later. A viral infection would affect you a week after getting it. Please read up on pregnancy and STD's before you continue contributing to the downfall of our world.

While it could be you are pg, it sounds more like you have an inner ear infection. Especially since you started out with a cold. I agree, though, that you should go to the dr. At the very least they can do a pg test and maybe give you something for the nausea

nausea usually starts around month 2 of pregnancy, not week 2. (but its possible) you probably have a cold. take some tylenol and use a condom from now on. i remember those days, freak out when i feel funny worring until i started my peroid. As for the HIV thing, dont know much about it but that usually takes some time to rear its ugly head. they make twisted and mint condoms now, they are even better then unprotected, try them.

You did something stupid and now, because you have the flu, you are worried that you are paying for that stupid mistake with your health. I don't think HIV symptoms will present themself within a week.

Go to the doctor immediately. If it's something, you'll know; if it's nothing, you'll know and can stop worrying.

Don't worry,there is no such symptoms for HIV at all so fast.It looks more like pregnancy symptoms,mine was exactly the same....But it's a bit early,if u had unprotected sex a week ago. The best solution for all your worries-just buy self pregnancy test and check it yourself.Bout HIV,if you still having doubts you also can go for anonymous blood test.
I think you having just some kind of flu or cold.

your stuffy nose could be due to the fact that you need to take more frequent breaths while your pregnant becasue your organs and baby need more oxegyn, so it keeps your nasal passages wet , but sometimes it over acts, that is the explanation i found in some of my prego books, i was like that in the beginning, but it could just be from a sinus infection too. sore throat could be from the sinus dripage, it just kind irritates your throat. bring this up to your doctor they will be able to help you. the snot in your stomach can make you feel quesy but sometimes early pregnancy does this to you to, but i dont think you would be this sick this soon, honestly it could be just a simple cold, HIV virus can act fast, bt also it can be slow, i would go to the health department too. and get a std test. infact tell them what happened and they can set you up with a pregnancy test and a std test. it may be embarrasing to let a medical proffesional know about your personal life, but it is better to be safe than sorry.

I got a cold for a week also it started a week after I had sex and I felt terrible. I didn't have nausea but I did cough a lot. I was close to my ovulation time and I didn't thought that I was pregnant cause I was trying for the past months. And then When I felt that way, I went to the hospital to find out that I was pregnant. It wasn't a viable pregnancy but I was happy for at least 6 weeks.
