Could I have caught anything?!?!!?!? I now have a kind of tickly throat and I remember someone saying the first symptom of HIV is a cold!!!!! I'm a hypochondriac but still!

You definitely can NOT catch HIV this way! I honestly don't think you could actually catch anything that way. If you're worried about serious risky behaviour and exposure to HIV pop round to your local health clinic for a test.

Its possible you may have caught Hep as the urine on the packet you may have put to your lips. uh... the "tickly throat" is a symptom of SMOKING! You can't get Aids from an object in most cases (not including infected needles and such). The first symptom of a simple cold is a tickly throat too and you are more prone to getting one of those or bronchitis when you smoke too. How long have you smoked and never gotten sick and a cough from it?? That should be a given. Why do you think people who smoke a lot always have a hoarse voice and cough? duh!

No! It's highly unlikely you could have caught anything from them. Unless you count acute embarrassment from being so cheap as to pick up a packet of discarded fags (yes, yes, I know they were yours) from a p*ss soaked pavement.
