what r the symptoms of hiv/aids

1. Rapid weight loss
2. Dry cough
3. Recurring fever or profuse night sweats
4. Profound and unexplained fatigue
5. Wollen lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck
6. Diarrhea that lasts for more than a week
7. White spots or unusual blemishes on the tongue, in the mouth, or in the throat
8. Pneumonia
9. Red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids
10. Memory loss, depression, and other neurological disorders

There are none until the HIV actually becomes AIDS, which is a good 8 years at least. The only way to know is to be tested for HIV.

If you have concern don't look at symptoms get tested. The symptoms of AIDS can be the same as the flu or a cold, so base nothing off the research of symptoms, get tested and be sure.

I'm told that it starts out like a cold. Not sure.

It's important to note that many never have symptoms so if you think you may have been exposed to the HIV virus you really should go and get tested because the sooner you know the sooner you can get on treatment. It's not a death sentence anymore. You also want to be sure you are not spreading the virus to others.

Symptoms can start out like a cold or flu, or they can be something obscure, like a rare cancer. They can show up within a year or not for many years. One of the more common complications is severe pneumonia. Check out the CDC website for very specific information.
