What is STD? and What are the symptoms? How do you get STD? How do you prevent STD?

I did have sex with a prostitute a lot and I didn't notice that there are a lot of sickness you can get from sex. I used a protection though but I just afraid since I am starting to know it now. I don't do drug. Besides HIV and STD is there any other sickness that I can get from having sex with a prostitute?

STD is an abbreviation for Sexually Transmitted Diseases, and is a group of diseases including HIV/AIDS, Chlamydia, Gonoreha, Syphilis, Herpes, Genital Warts(Condylomas), Trichomonas, scabies and more. Some are dangerous and some are not, some can be treated and some can not. A condom protects against most of the diseases, includind HIV and chlamydia. Some of these diseases like Genital Warts and Scabies can also be in places around the genitals that are not protected by a condom, and direct contact with these areas can spread the disease. If you have had sex with a prostitute, then I would strongly concider a test for STD's since prostitutes are among the people who most frequently have STD's. Remember; Many STD's don't show symptoms before late in the disease, but they can still do damage. Getting tested is the only way to be 100 percent sure you don't have one.
Good Luck!

Diseases

Yes! There are many of them besides HIV!

Go get tested.

STD is sexually transmitted disease. There are many of them and some don't even have any noticable symptoms. I have taken Health class where they were all discribed but you can find it online.

yes there are lots ...the safest protection at present is a condom

STD means sexually transmitted diseases, and encompasses a myriad of different diseases from herpes, to warts, to VD.
A condom will help to protect you from most, but not all. You can get warts and herpes from skin to skin contact, as well as lice and crabs.

Dude, STD stands for Sexually Transmitted DiseaseS.. there are lots from Clamydia to Genital Warts.. and who can forget the ever popular Herpes! Condoms help prevent these nasty side effects but you're one best bet is to stay away from prostitutes!

yo you need to go to the doctors and get checked because if you dont you'll die. why dont you stop doing things with hoes and get a girl, thats from the heart man

std = sexually transmitted diseases.
sex with a prostitute can result to various diseases since no brand of condom can offer u 100% protection.
the deadliest being HIV, besides u can also get HEPATITS B whisch spreads by saliva, gonorrhoea, syphilis(rare).
another risky proposition is MOLLUSCUM contagiousum, also HERPES with human papilloma virus etc....

the list is almost endless ...
so condom is not an ultimate protection

Ya, a lot like more then 28. Most can't kill u but can cause a lot of pain and trouble. 4 future reference, to prevent std's don't have sex. Good luck w/ your problem.

STD stands for Sexually Transmitted Disease. It is possible to contract a STD by having unprotected sex with a partner that has had multiple partners in the past. Even w/ protection, there is still the possibility of catching something you really don't want. The choice is yours. How much are you willing to gamble?

STD is not a disease its a category of diseases. Symptoms could be sores on the genitals, warts on genitals, any bleeding from genitals, thrushing. There are a lot of symptoms. You should go get tested. If you turn out not to have any you should be good but go and get tested for HIV 3 months later because it often takes a long time to build antibodies for the virus and it may lay dormant. To prevent STDS dont have sex with hookers and try not to have sex with lots of people. Always wear protection. The only way not to get an STD is abstinence

Sorry to put a scare in you - but you're right to be concerned, and you really should seek medical advice and/or treatment. Some sexually transmitted diseases (STD's) aren't always detectable in its first stages (especially in men) - so by the time you start noticing abnormalities, you may have already had it for a while and you run the risk of passing it on to your partner without knowing it.
