Hiv question Diarrhea???????????

Hi I touched some blood 6 weeks ago just on one of my fingers on the way home on the bus.

I just want to know if Diarrhea but mainly just loose stools with no other symptoms at all could be ARS which some people get.

I know that it is mainly fever, rash, headaches general unwell ness but if I only have Diarrhea could it still be a symptom and have you ever head of it being the only symptom.

Thank you for your time and I hope you a nice day.

Depends if you are HIV positive or not. Touching blood with closed skin not as concerning as if you had an open wound or if you had unprotected sex or used someone else's dirty needle. Nevertheless, the only way to give yourself peace of mind is to get an HIV test (one now, then one in 6 months). If you are immune compromised (transplant, chemotherapy, HIV, genetic issue) the workup for diarrhea is a bit different that for your average (healthy) Joe. For an otherwise healthy guy, you have to determine if the diarrheah is transient or chronic. Huge workup. If it has resolved, likely food poisoning or virus. If it continues, go to a gastroenterologist.

One (of several other) blood issue is HEPATITIS A, B, C, D, etc. Contact of infected blood, breastmilk, and stool/feces/poop can infect you. So get tested if you are worried.

i think it'd unlikely that you'd get HIV from getting a little bit of blood on your finger on the bus. the blood would have had to be fresh and you'd have had to have an open sore, but then it's still unlikely. i don't believe that your loose stools are an acute HIV reaction, it's much more likely that it's something else. the acute reaction is usually very similar to the flu (not the stomach flu, the head cold type). look for other causes of the diarrhea. and i'm sure you washed your hands when you got home...

you can't get HIV by touching blood on the bus unless you had an open wound.

I have spoken with hundreds of people living with HIV as well as several HIV docs. I have never heard of ARS presenting as diarrhea alone.

And the risks of occupational needle sticks run in the range of 0.3%.....can you imagine what the chances are of catching HIV from a drop of blood (which may or may not be +) on your skin is not even remotely likely.

Your diarrhea could easily be caused by stress/anxiety about lots of things. If you're freakedout about this 毛xposure" get a test to relieve your mind.

Hope this helps

I find it highly unlikely that you would have contacted HIV from getting some blood on you finger on the bus. Although HIV is transmitted through blood, the likely-hood of getting the disease from blood that has been exposed to air and not blood to blood contact is unlikely. I think that it is all in your head, but if you want to be certain, go and get tested.
