HIV and AIDS? |
so what exactly are HIV and AIDS? and what are the symptoms of it? HIV is the "Human ImmunoDeficiency Virus". AIDS or "Acquired ImmunoDeficiency Syndrome" the name for the disease the virus causes. HIV is the virus which leads to AIDS. AIDS is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome, and it describes a collection of conditions that an HIV patient may experience. Please see the link for more information, symptoms, etc. Almost right T R. All I would add is that HIV may lead to AIDS (it usually does eventually) but there are examples of HIV positive people not developing AIDS (so far). |
