Muscle weakness and joint stiffness a sign of early HIV infection? Please help.?

I've read all about HIV/Aids and the early symptoms. And read, and read, and read. But can anybody offer me any opinions or first hand experiences with leg weakness and general weakness and joint stiffness? I just cameback from a trip where I abused myself with alcohol and cigarettes which I normally only occasionally do. I didn't take my vitamins regularly and didn't exercise. I'm not very strong to begin with.. 135 pounds and 6'0". I had protected sex with a girl twice.. three weeks later had unprotected sex with a girl whom I trusted very well. About a week or so later started getting a sore throat and feeling weird.. a fever of somewhat too and some night sweats. Came back from trip and felt better.. no sore throat or anything.. just tired. A few days later got a head cold.. went away in about two-three days. After that started getting really weak in the legs as I worried about the possible infection. Anxiety has been at an all time high.

Get yourself tested. It could be other STD's or just an illness. No sense guessing, go consult with your doctor.

See a doctor. You are going to worry yourself for nothing.........See a doctor, get the test and then relax. Then, wait till marriage before having sex.......get it? You probably have the flu

HIV doesn't turn into AIDS until years after becoming infected, so any symptoms you have now are not from HIV. Joint pain is an HIV symptom, but weak muscles are not. When HIV symptoms show up, the usual problems are strange infections, bleeding gums, diarrhea, night sweats, and feeling generally sick for more than two weeks straight. Go to the doctor and get tested - that should provide a lot of relief.

YOU NEED TO GO GET CHECKED NOT ALL UR SYMPTOMS MEAN U HAVE HIV OR AIDS... SO STOP WORRYING UR SELF TO DEATH... THERE ARE LOTS OF ILLNESSES THAT HAVE THE SAME SYMPTOMS UR HAVING SO GO GET CHECKED.... IF U WANT GO TO WEBMD.COM AND ASK THE QUESTION AND IT WILL GIVE U A LIST OF OTHER ILLNESS ..

Symptoms of early HIV infection :

Diarrhea that persists
Excessive sweating, night sweats
Fatigue that persists
Fever that persists
General feeling of discomfort, illness, or lack of well-being
Herpes zoster infections that keep coming back
Joint pain
Mouth disorders
Gingivitis
Oral hairy leukoplakia of tongue, caused by a viral infection
Oral thrush
Pain, loss of sensation, and inability to control muscles (peripheral neuropathy)
Skin disorders
Fungal infection of the skin or nails
Molluscum contagiosum
Seborrheic dermatitis
Swollen lymph glands
Weight loss


Not very specific symptoms aren't they ?!

As the other said, you must take liable HIV test about 1 - 3 month after unprotected sex (depend on which HIV test you take).
Even doctor won't diagnosed you without lab test.

Most of the symptoms that have been listed here are NOT signs of early HIV, but signs of advanced HIV which would usually take years to show up.
