Are loose bowels a symptom of acute hiv or is it diarrhea? |
I had protected sex with someone for the first time three weeks ago.I got a flu/sore throat two days later that cleared up shortly.I noticed a swollen lymph node in my right side of the back of my neck, it's still there.I also had loose bowels consistently almost since day 1 of the incident perhaps due to the immense amount of worry of getting an STD, mainly herpes at the time.I didn't even have an appetite to eat a lot of times due to the worry. However, as time passed a little of the worry went away and perhaps my bowels improved, not sure. Then school started and I read about 'acute hiv' and persistent diarrhea.I began worrying again and every morning I have the loose bowels. It's usually not diarrhea as in it's not watery, just loose, thin, clumpy maybe a little watery sometimes. On the weekend I woke up a bit later and I kind of held it in, and when I used the bathroom in the afternoon the bowels were normal formed, well a bit soft still but it was not diarrhea. I also had some phlegm at the back of my throat 2 days ago. I thought it would progress to a sore throat but it didn't. It pretty much cleared up. Does this count as flu-like symptom? Thanks for any advice. Symptoms of acute HIV disease (acute retroviral syndrome) are experienced by between 40-90% of cases. Get a test.... |
