Weight loss and inches around hips decreased...Is this HIV?

I am 20 years old. I have OCD. And a phobia of HIV.

I am a virgin. I do not use IV drugs. Parents are healthy.

I have lost about an inch to an inch and a half in my hips. I have bad back aches. I have been staying up til 6 and sleeping SO long.

I have changed my eating habits. I don't eat out AT ALL anymore. Except maybe twice a month at Wings n More.

I cook EVERYTHING at home but I drink a TON of soda.

I have lost about 5 to 8 pounds over a 21 day period and in about 2 weeks, have lost an inch to an inch and a half on my hips.

I know that these are symptoms of HIV. I am scared to have gotten it from something uncommon. Like a 2 second open mouth kiss I was involved in. Oxygen was present, I didn't taste any blood on either end.

I AM FREAKING OUT right now.

Because I haven't been excercising but have lost this.

Also, that kiss I participated in was on September 27th. I got tested at the 3 month mark and it came back negative. I will be going in for another test in March to have it checked out again.

I am really having a hard time dealing with this because my body just FEELS like it KNOWS that it is HIV.

Someone shed light on why I have lost what I have lost without really trying.

Also, somedays, I got without eating for about 20 hours straight and then will decide to cook something....

You are overreacting, You sound like a Hypochondriac to me. Stop freakin out so much. You cant Have HIV if you are a virgin unless....
1. Either you shared a needle with a friend (drugs)
2. Had a blood transfusion recently where the needle wasnt sterilised
3. Shared a razor with someone infected with HIV.
If you havent done any of above, then u r just freakin out. Mayb u lost weight cuz u changed ur eating habits. But weight loss stops and slows down after a certain period. IT goes really slow after you lose 10 pounds or so. Switch to a different workout, diet and you will start seeing results again.

Im not sure but my advice is to consult a doctor thats probably the best thing to do.

You sound like a hypochondriac to me. How do you suppose you got HIV w/o unprotected sex or blood contact w/ someone? It is also looking like unless you are exposed to it more than a few times your chances of contracting it are slim.

I would see a dr also but not for HIV. For your mental problems. I think its funny how most people w/ this dread live in po-dunk towns in Iowa.

No offense, but you look a little chubby in your pic, so stopping eating out and only eating at home is a good reason for weight loss. But, what if someone in the packaging dept. had aids and touched the food in the box!!! Seriously. Get some freinds and something else to occupy your time. Poor diet and sleeping cause aches, can lead to halucinations, and PARANOIA.

Also, somedays, I got without eating for about 20 hours straight and then will decide to cook something....

Are you just loking for attention here? THATS why youve lost weight. Duh.

Probably your eating habits. You are def. OCD - no offense.

If you're a virgin, the only possible way to get HIV is if your parents have it, or if you had blood contact.

Just go take a test and get it over with.

I think the weight loss could be down to the fact that you have stopped eating out and the aches are down to stress.

You should go to your Dr and have a test if you are that concerned. It would put your mind at rest.

Those symptoms are not necessarily related to HIV. I get the feeling something else happen in your life that is making you change your eating habits. However if you are so concerned that you have HIV go to a doctor 鈥?that is the only way you will be completely sure about your health.

Good luck and I hope you are clean 鈥?though I guess you are.

It is extremely unlikely that you have HIV. For one the disease generally shows no symptoms for the first six months you have it (or longer). HIV cannot be contracted by saliva, only by other bodily fluids ie blood and semen. You have just been eating healthier from the sounds of things, you really don't have anything to be worried about. If you're still scared, go to your family doctor, he will put your worries to rest I am sure :)

But before the weight loss, were you drinking two tons of soda, eating a whole tray of donuts and the entire fast food menu of which ever lucky establishment happened to catch your eye etc etc.

We don't really know what you were doing before to say if it was your HIV theory or any other reason.

If you are a virgin, and parents don't have HIV, then you're in the all clear. It can be a number of things.

I do not think that HIV can be contracted by swapping spit, though.

How old are you? Could be some growth spurt. If you're eating healthy, and you're still losing weight, that is a cause for concern. I suggest you go to your doc and get a full set of labwork done.

There is no need to be afraid of HIV or paranoid about it. All I can say is that when you're with a guy and you ask if he's got it and he says no, assume the opposite and if necessary, put TWO rubbers on him. You can still have sex that way!

Most guys will lie when they're in the mood for some...mattress mambos. An STD or HIV thing they WILL lie about because they want to have sex and they know they won't get it when they're honest.

Not true for all guys, but true for the majority of them.

Let me see you are a virgin and Aids is a STD. You say you have changed your eating habits and now eating more at home that could be the reason.

see a shrink. No kidding, there are some meds that will make you feel better.

why would u have HIV when you're a virgin, your healthy and so is your parents & you've not used IV drugs.. Sounds like you're over-reacting thinking you have this because you have a massive phobia of it!

When you think you have something or obsess over it, you will have symptoms of it....

Weight loss in hips is definitely NOT a symptom of HIV. You may have changed your eating habits out of stress. You may have lost weight from not eating out where food is usually high in sodium & fats (gravies, dressings, etc.)

Thrush is more commonly a sign of HIV.

I would see a psychiatrist for an evaluation of your OCD & HIV phobia. There are meds that can really relieve your symptoms.

If you're so concerned about it you need to go to MD.

You don't have HIV. You are paranoid and thats about it.

As far as your sleeping, it seems as though you get thoughs and obsess about them. NO wonder you aren't sleeping. Your eating habits are changing and that too can go along with your insomnia. My advice, since you have OCD this is probably some other symptoms due to that. Talk to your doctor and up your meds honey.

The only thing I can say is that you must be playing mindtricks with your own self. yet the best way to find out is quite obvious. see our minds can deceive us if we centralized ourselfs in self defeating thoughts so that we only think what we don't want and we keep atracting the same thoughts of not wanting something.

I encourage you to wait a little longer if you don't really want to test now, see if you get other symptons like, drowsiness, feeling sick, diarhea and stuff like that..

if you do then I suggest you consider this seriously but if not the only way to find out is by lying patiently. time reveals it's secrets on it's on time schedule.

don't be affraid and please don't take yourself so seriously, mind can be tricky sometimes.

bestest wishes

No need to freak out, my weight moves about by the day 3pounds up 4pounds down, for no reason other than one day may be a lazy day the other more exercise, if I am working ( I am semi retired) doing an heavy job I can lose a stone in a week, I am 66 years old and this is how my weight has changed week by week, all my life I am roughly the same weight as when I was 20 years old 12 1/2 stone 5ft8ins tall so don't worry about it. last year I lost 2 stone when I was doing a really hard job I didn't notice this but a friend who had not seen me for a couple of years was shocked at how thin I was so I made sure I ate a bit more grub and took it easy for a while it soon came back back on.

Very accurate--they is NO CHANCE that you have HIV.

I would recommend you get a prescription for Xanax or something.
