Does HIV and Hep C show any common symptoms at all?

say if the person is infected more than 5 years without medication and healthy lifestyle

Since both are viral enfections they can share common symptoms at the beginning. But by time they differ. HIV is an immune system disorder, HepC is a virus distruptin liver functions. In HIV you face with immune related symptoms like atypical enfections, yeast enfections, etc. In HepC you show symptoms of liver disfunction like ascites in the abdomen, teleniectasias on the palm, icterus, riht upper quadrant pain. They are easy to differ with ELISA testin which results in half a day at most. In fact you can have both HIV and hepC at the same time since both are blood transmitted diseases.

I don't think so... If you see the list of symptoms for Hepatitis C and the list of symptoms for HIV, you find very few similarities:

Some Hepatitis C Symptoms:
- mild flu
- vomiting
- appetite loss
- weight loss
- jaundice
- persisting itch

Some HIV Symptoms:
- weight loss
- fever
- fatigue
- diarrhea
- swollen lymph glands
- spots on the tongue
- depression

i know a little about hep c my husband had it never knew he had hep c and if it goes untreated it can turn into liver cancer and you die.he did simple blood test for both please get tested.
hep c some symptoms
difficulty gaining weight
achyness
muscle and joint pain
tired
jaundice
again please get tested if you do have hepc treatment is easier if you catch it earlier.

i don't think it ask a doctor. :)

Yes, they both have a common feature initially. They are 鈥淎SYMPTOMATIC鈥? meaning there are no symptoms in the initial stages and all appears quite and reassuring.
