AID & HIV : There is so much of talk but I have no where found how an ordinary person can know Any symptoms ?

What are the visible symptoms by which a lay man can know that he/she is inflicted with AIDs / HIV ? There is no publicity on this details. It would be very helpful for the lay man so that he can go to a Doctor for treatment. Please to elaborate.

Top 10 Symptoms of HIV & AIDS

1) Depression
Everyone has had days where they were feeling a little "blue". We all have been "down in the dumps" or felt "blah" But when these feelings last longer than a couple weeks you may be suffering from depression.

2) Diarrhea
Diarrhea can be a life threatening problem if not treated correctly and rapidly.

3) Thrush
We have all had morning mouth...that stale, pasty, bad tasting yuk that coats your mouth each morning. But never fear because with one good brushing, your mouth is as fresh as a daisy. But what if the bad taste and and white coating doesn't go away with a simple brushing? Then you may have the most common HIV opportunistic infection...thrush.

4) Weight Loss
Weight loss is a common problem in HIV and AIDS. Unless you are actively trying to lose weight by exercising and watching what you eat, weight loss is a serious problem.

5) Lipodystrophy
People infected with HIV are living longer and more productive lives. A large part of the reason is the introduction of medication combinations into standard HIV care. But with the benefits of medications also comes some unforeseen problems. One such problem is fat redistribution syndrome or lipodystrophy.

6) Lactic Acidosis
This emerging problem can make you sick, miserable, and can even be fatal.

7) Sinus Infections
Your head feels congested and full. The pressure behind your eyes makes it hard to concentrate. The pounding in your head and face is relentless. The dreaded sinus infection.

8) Fatigue
Fatigue is a common problem in HIV and AIDS. To treat fatigue, one must decide what is causing the problem.

9) Nausea / Vomiting
Nausea is not only aggravating and can make you feel sick, when associated with vomiting it can be dangerous.

10) Burning and Tingling of the Feet and Hands
That burning in your feet can be very painful.

That's my Best Answer! But only an HIV Test will confirm if you are HIV+ or not. Good luck!

The first symptom is poor grammar!

There are no visible symptoms, just go and get a blood test, or even get your mouth swabbed!!!! Stop having unprotected sex with people...

always fever

Not sure but I noticed a glazed look in the eyes of people I know have it, that could be the medication still i avoid sex with glazy eyed people.

I have glazed eyes when I'm stoned but I ain't got HIV so take my words with a pinch of salt. Plus my friend has had it 15 years, he is fine and happy.

Hey dear its not possible to Know simptoms of AIDS.its to dificult.but the most thing is He/she will get so much diesease during 3 monts.its will be like wamouting, dierria, maleria, and sever temrature.during this time by chaking blood result its possible to know abt HIV virus.cauz its complsury to check blood on maleria.its hard to view physical symptoms.during window period all physical symptoms u can view.

you really dont start showing signs right away. It is a very tricky desease some dont know they have it for years then they get a small cold that wont go away then it starts getting worse then by time they go to the doctor its already to late. but others can live for years as long as they take their meds,

If you dont know but think there could be a chance go to your local health department and get tested even if your not sure its better to know now then 5 yrs from now when you have infected others by not knowing.

some common signs can be as simple as a cold that keeps getting worse ,wont go away, getting cold sweats ,feeling more tired then usual ,but your local health department can explain to you more and why you should be tested ever so often.

good luck and hope you get the answers you needed!!

What you call symptoms or visiblle signs in this case can be symptoms of other infections,so the safest way advocated for is TO HAVE BLOOD TESTS AND BE SURE.If you are so worried about AIDS ,test and know your status, then avoid unprotected sex or abstain if not yet married and /or be faithful to one partner.

Hi there !
First of all let me correct you.."it is not AID"..it is "AIDS"... as it denotes a "syndrome" !
Now coming to the point for details of AIDS, it is beyond the scope of this column ! For details check up the websites of any Blood banks or Red cross society !
Or walk into your neares Blood Bank and talk to the consultant ! they will have detailed pamplets !
If you want to rule out AIDS, any reputed Hospital or AIDS control society referral centres will help you out ! Check up with their "may I help you" counters!
Or ask your friendly family doctor !
!

best wishes !

For most, there are no visible signs of HIV infection. I have a friend who has been living with HIV for nearly 18 years. He looks fine. You could never tell that he is infected.

In our bodies, we carry many germs - bacteria, protozoa, fungi, and viruses. When our immune system is working, it controls these germs. But when the immune system is weakened by HIV disease or by some medications, these germs can get out of control and cause health problems.

Infections that take advantage of weakness in the immune defenses are called "opportunistic". The phrase "opportunistic infection" is often shortened to "OI".

For individuals with full blown AIDS (meaning that you have a T-cell count of just about 200 - this small number of t-cells indicates that the virus has overtaken your immune system) symptoms include wasting (the fat cells in your face, for example, disappear) general weight loss, lesions...etc. Individuals who have full blown AIDS no longer have an immune system to protect them. They will tend to look tired, thin, etc.

Hope this helps.

Fever, rash, diarrhea, flu-like symptoms. Not everyone shows symptoms after initial infection, however. Some are completely asymptomatic until their immune systems are shot some years later and its too late for drugs to do much good.

There is a phase in which the person is asymptomatic (no symptoms at all) and we call it the window period. Even in laboratory tests, it proves to be negative. 11- 29 days , the virus antigen and antibody will start to rise and therefore can be detectable in the serum or blood, By merely looking at a person, one cannot tell whether a person has HIV or not. You just have to have safe sex. Stay with one partner. There is one simple ( denotes doubt about your partner ) way to know though, you can request him/her to have the blood test after every 6 months. If he/she agrees to it. Perhaps you can do it together, so he/she will not get offended. Then if you have been negative to the test for 3 consecutive exams, then play safe sex and you will be sure he/she is negative for HIV. Never share needles also, and if you get a blood transfusion, be sure the blood is safe.

Any unkown fever and/or cough ,weight loss, loss of appetite, low heamoglo for long time not getting corrected.

Wt loss of more than 5 kg in six months
