What is first symptoms of HIV?

A positive HIV test

not sure but i think maybe; getting sick a lot, losing weight, sores on your face.

usually the earliest symptoms are much like a virus, body aches, nausea, low grade fever. If you practise a high risk life style you should be tested every six months.

A sharp, stabbing pain in the bottom.

Being sleepy. Or hungry. Or thirsty. Or horny.

You lose your immunity to every thing, even a mild cough or cold etc wont go away,your body will detoriate and your entire system starts to break down bit by bit, your nervous system etc etc. If you are carrying the virus you wont know sometimes, cause it could remain domant in you and show up after five years. Its incurable. I think its Gods curse to humans for having multiple partners and their filthy sex lives.

I'm really disappointed to see so many immature and insensitive answers to your question. I'm sorry people are so cruel.

The first symptoms are nearly indistinguishable from cold, or flu. Fever, aches, tiredness, etc. The second answerer summed it up well.

Get tested and best of luck to you!

The only way to know whether you are infected is to be tested for HIV. You cannot rely on symptoms alone because many people who are infected with HIV do not have symptoms for many years. Someone can look and feel healthy but can still be infected. In fact, one quarter of the HIV-infected persons in the United States do not know that they are infected.

The following may be warning signs of advanced HIV infection:

* rapid weight loss
* dry cough
* recurring fever or profuse night sweats
* profound and unexplained fatigue
* swollen lymph glands in the armpits, groin, or neck
* diarrhea that lasts for more than a week
* white spots or unusual blemishes on the tongue, in the mouth, or in the throat
* pneumonia
* red, brown, pink, or purplish blotches on or under the skin or inside the mouth, nose, or eyelids
* memory loss, depression, and other neurological disorders

However, no one should assume they are infected if they have any of these symptoms. Each of these symptoms can be related to other illnesses. Again, the only way to determine whether you are infected is to be tested for HIV infection.
